Admission Open For UG Courses In All GDCs in JK
Srinagar: The Higher Education Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the commencement of admissions to undergraduate degree programs (BA/BSc/BCom/BBA/BCA) in the Government Degree Colleges of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The admission portal will be active starting from July 27, 2023.
As part of the admission process, students can apply for admission to constituent colleges of the Cluster University of Jammu/Srinagar, as well as the University of Jammu/Kashmir, and autonomous colleges including Government College for Women, Parade Ground Jammu, Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, and Government Degree College, Baramulla.
During the application process, applicants need to indicate their preferred colleges. The selection of candidates will be based on the scores obtained in CUET-UG (Cluster University Entrance Test – Undergraduate). For those who did not appear in the entrance exam, there will be a Late Entry Round for the remaining seats after admissions for CUET entrants are completed. Selection for the Late Entry Round will be based on the merit obtained in the 12th class.
There is no application fee for the admission process, and all applications must be submitted online. After applying, candidates will be required to visit the University/College in person for document verification, as notified by the respective institution. It is important to keep the login credentials (login ID and password) confidential as they cannot be changed or edited under any circumstances.
The allocation of preferences to candidates will be provisional and will depend on the program’s merit list, category, and seat availability. Once a seat has been allocated to a candidate in a particular round, they must “Accept” the allocated seat on their dashboard and then follow the counseling schedule to visit the college for admission. Failure to take any action will be considered as non-acceptance of the allocated seat, leading to forfeiture of the provisional allocation, and the candidate will no longer be eligible to participate in subsequent counseling rounds.A
